Content Writing Tips For Your Business Blog
If you have been running a blog for some time you know that it needs to be updated on a regular basis. The hardest aspect of blogging is finding interesting subjects to write about. You should focus your blog on what your website visitors want to read and not what you want to write, however you should be passionate about the topic you are writing.
A great blog post can easily attract more visitors to your site, and this can lead to many new sales or opportunities for new business. If you get it right more people will be talking about your post on the net and you will benefit from the increased traffic to your business website.
Most visitors have very short attention spans on the Internet as there is so much information available to them, so one thing that you could try is keeping your posts short and simple. If a post can be written in three sentences instead of four, then do so.
How often should you blog?
Try to post at least one blog post per week. This will give you the benefit of repeat visitors as well as improving your search engine rankings. A lot of businesses are now blogging as part of their promotional marketing to form closer links with their existing customers and attract new ones too.
So what to do when you can’t think of what to write on your blog? Even if you are an expert in your field, you might have a writer’s block. So here are some tips that can help you find interesting subjects:
- Take a peek at what other bloggers have said about your subject. Look around on forums, chatrooms and social networking sites to see what people are asking about in your industry. This is a very effective way to discover interesting topics that you can answer.
- Offline mediums like newspaper, TV, radio etc. can be great sources when you are looking for interesting subjects to write about.
- Have a chat with your friends, Don’t try to find the perfect ideas from them directly; just have a normal conversation with them and you could be surprised with what ideas they could give you, or, lead you on to.
